Most garage door motors have a cord that hangs from the motor and provides the option to put the door into manual so it can be operated manually.
Roller doors: Pull on the cord to disengage the motor. Pull on the cord again when your ready to re-engage the motor.
Sectional Doors: Pull the cord down to disengage the motor. Pull the cord towards the rear of the garage to lock the pin back into re-engage the motor.
