About Us

Garage Doors and More has humble beginnings. In 2011, we opened our doors and operated our small business right from our very own home in Tamworth. I remember how excited, and scared we were to have something of our own. We both had years of experience in the field previously. Andrew himself at that stage had over 20 years’ experience. It made sense. It’s all we knew. 

In 2013, we had outgrown the shed at home and after I convinced Andrew that we could not store doors anywhere else within our home, we moved into our own premises in Neminga. We built the showroom and cleaned up the old shed, and that’s where our Tamworth branch is still today. Over the years we have expanded so that we can service more customers and now we cover a large area of the New England and Northwest region from this branch.

Late 2015, we were assisting our insurance builders in the Newcastle area after a large storm had whipped through the area. Whilst there, we seen an opportunity to provide customers with better service, and that is how our Newcastle Branch located in Warners Bay was born in mid-2016. I admit, I think we were a little naive in 2016. Our Newcastle branch has taught us a great deal in business and has been a wonderful growth for GDAM and for us. 

So much so, that we went again, and opened our Coffs Branch early 2021. This time, we made the move with our family over to the coast and put our Tamworth baby in the hands of a Branch Manager. We dearly miss Tamworth, but it was the best decision for our kids and our family. 

A lot of people ask us… what is the “more” in Garage Doors and More. When we chose this name, we decided to allow for any expansion that we wanted over time. So, we added the “more” in. Since then, our products are not just garage doors and automation, but we also cover gate automation, external window shutters, building openings to carports and garage openings, shop doors, and becoming a distributor for Thermadoor, Cleverseal and Knotwood, just to name a few. Our core will always be garage doors, but we like to be able to give our customers more solutions, so hence our more. 

Our 3 branches have now given us the opportunity to service more customers, and a large area of NSW. Each branch touches each other’s boundaries and supports one and another on a day-to-day basis, which is exactly how we like it. We’re always going to be excited about garage doors and our passion continues to grow to provide customers with an exceptional experience with what we call from “nose to tail”, which means from the beginning to end of your journey with us. Right from the first contact you have with us, through to the technicians on site within your home. Our vision is to provide professional customer service without losing our personal touch, no matter what size GDAM grows to. A place where a customer can expect nothing but the best care, and guidance in deciding what is the right choice for their project.

What are your business hours?

Our Newcastle and Tamworth showrooms are open from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. Our Coffs Harbour showroom is open from 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Monday to Friday
